Momasar Festival is set in Momasar, a picturesque village town in the Shekhawati region. With 9 consecutive editions, each year the village hosts this extraordinary Music and Arts Festival, attracting thousands of people who crowd the streets, milling between the open-air stages and havelis.
The festival’s ethos are inspired by the concept of grassroots movement to strengthen cultural diversity and empower creative communities in the state of Rajasthan.
Momasar Fringe is set in a campsite in the dunes providing an experiential residential facility in the village.
It’s an annual experiment in bridging the urban-rural divide through the creation of temporary community space dedicated to self and community expression through arts and music. The festival features the finest in Rajasthan’s music, performance and visual art, including a community kitchen which serves organic traditional food.
