Jaipur Gharana Kathak meets the Manganiyars - A Performance Collaboration

Jaipur Gharana’s unique contribution to the Kathak tradition by way of performing over a Jugalbandi of Indian Classical and Rajasthan Folk music traditions. This performance is curated by renowned Kathak Guru, Dr. Shashi Sankhla, as a mix of Kathak in pure-form and semi-classical dance styles over Maand songs, Life-cycle songs of Manganiyars, Songs of Monsoon and Separation from Rajasthan Folk, and the traditional Kathak Padhants, Thumris and Tatkaars.
