Join us as we drift through the streets of Jaipur, translating the city's rhythms and colors into mesmerizing live-coded music and visual art.

🌆 What Awaits You:

Urban Wandering

We will begin by drifting through the streets of Jaipur, allowing ourselves to be spontaneously guided by the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the city that inspire us, discovering & capturing unexpected or overlooked aspects of the city’s culture.

Code as Art

Just like the unplanned city walk, we will explore coding as a freestyle expressive creative practice to transform your urban captures into live-coded audio-visual soundscapes, using two innovative open-source coding platforms (Sonic Pi & p5.js).

Jam Session

The culmination of your artistic journey will be a chance to perform your unique audio-visual cityscape during an informal jam session on the final day of the workshop. Share your creation with fellow participants and visitors, showcasing the beauty of code-driven art.

The 4-day workshop will be held in the vibrant Jaipur Jantar Hostel, a friendly backpackers abode and community space in the heart of Jaipur city.

❓FAQs

I have no coding experience, can I join?
Yes! The course is designed keeping in mind that anyone from non coding backgrounds can and must participate.

I’m a coder, is this workshop for me?
We encourage you to join, the course will help you explore your creative side! You can collaborate with others in the workshop and create amazing stuff

I’m not from Jaipur. Can I join this workshop?
Yes, everyone is welcome to join the workshop. Majority of our participants generally come from other cities. This time the venue itself (Jaipur Jantar Hostel) is a great place to stay along with its adjacent sister hotel ‘Jai Niwas’.

Is there an age limit?
No! Anyone with basic computer literacy can be part of the workshop.

Am a designer/artist, is this workshop for me?
Yes!! We believe that software making and technology should be accessible to everyone, especially creators!

I want to do only sounds/I want to do only visuals. Is that possible?
You will have to attend the entire workshop, but for your final presentation/jam you can choose either sound or visuals - whatever draws you more!

Prerequisites:

just bring your curiosity to explore new ideas. NO CODING SKILLS required.
a laptop with access to Windows (10+), Mac (OS 11+) bought 2018 or after, with an updated version of Chrome browser
